As a dancer, actor and overall performer, this mind/body connection is priceless. Going to the gym (or to dance class) and just going through the motions is not enough. Creating that link between the mind and body is vital in having a sustainable career as a performer and an asset in the studio or rehearsal hall.
Emily hopes to help other performers, creatives, and her students develop confidence in movement and a strong connection between mind and body.
Emily started working out in her parents basement in 2014 using an at home, body weight program she found online. Since 2017, she has been in the gym moving weights with a goal of picking heavy things up and putting them back down. After competing in a bodybuilding competition in 2019, she officially caught the fitness bug and signed up to become an ACE Certified Personal Trainer. The owner of MatchFit Athletics, she believes strongly in training for function and developing a strong connection between mind and body for movement.
